Getting Started
FLARE is a social photo-battle app. You submit photos to trending challenges in your area
and compete in 1v1 battles where the community votes. The more votes ("Flares") your photo earns,
the wider its geographic reach spreads β from your neighborhood to your city to the whole country.
Download FLARE from the App Store, open it, and tap "Create Account". You'll need a username,
email address, and password. No phone number required.
Yes. FLARE is free to download and use. The free version is supported by ads. A Premium
subscription removes ads, unlocks the ability to create your own Trends, and gives access
to additional profile customization.
Tap the + Create tab at the bottom of the app.
Browse active Trends near you and choose one.
Take a photo with your camera or pick one from your library.
Confirm and submit β your photo enters the battle queue immediately.
Battles & Voting
In the Home feed you'll see two photos from the same Trend side by side. Tap the one you
prefer to cast a "Flare" vote. The next battle loads automatically. There's no limit to
how many battles you can vote on.
Every photo starts with a small geographic radius β only people in your immediate area
see it in battles. As it earns more Flares (votes), the radius expands:
Neighborhood β City β Region β Country. High-performing photos can eventually be seen nationally.
No. Your own photos never appear in your battle feed. You cannot vote on or interact
with your own submissions.
Account & Privacy
Location is used to show you local Trends and Battles relevant to your area, and to assign
your photos a starting geographic radius. We only request location while the app is open
β we never track you in the background. You can disable location in iOS Settings and manually
enter your city instead.
On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password?". Enter your registered email address
and we'll send you a reset link. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your
spam folder or contact flare@safer.network.
Tap the β― menu on any photo or profile and select "Report". Choose the
reason that best describes the issue. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
For urgent matters (e.g. illegal content), email
flare@safer.network directly.
On iOS, go to Settings β Privacy & Security β Tracking β FLARE and toggle
off "Allow Tracking". You will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.

Premium & Purchases
Go to Profile β Settings β Restore Purchases. Make sure you're logged in
with the same Apple ID used to purchase. If the issue persists, contact us with your
Apple Order ID.
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. To cancel: iOS Settings β your name β
Subscriptions β FLARE β Cancel Subscription. You'll retain Premium access until
the end of the current billing period.
ποΈ How to Delete Your Account
You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time (GDPR Art. 17).
There are two ways to do this:
Option 1 β In-app (instant):
Open FLARE and go to your Profile.
Tap the Settings icon (top right).
Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account".
Confirm deletion. Your account and all data are permanently removed.
Option 2 β By email:
Send a deletion request to flare@safer.network
from the email address registered to your account. We will process your request within 30 days.
Note: Some data (e.g. purchase receipts) may be retained for legally required periods
even after account deletion. See our Privacy Policy for details.
